Backgammon is an indoor board game which can be played by two persons. There are a lot of versions of this game all over the world, but most of them have the same features.
Even if the game is actually a competition in which each player tries to move pieces around the board and then remove them before the opponent removes them, the game also supposes strategy. Backgammon has emerged in Ur, about the year 3000 BC and archeologists have discovered games similar to contemporary backgammon, which is a rapid and interesting game. Backgammon in its old form is older even than chess.
Online backgammon is not very different from the real one. Both players have the same pieces, dies and a board. In order to play backgammon online you only need a good site.

This game needs a chess board. It is square and it is divided in 8 lines, called horizontals and 8 columns called verticals which form 64 squares with equal areas, called fields, which are alternatively colored in black and white. At the beginning each player has 16 pieces: 8 pawns, 2 towers, 2 horses, 2 bishops, a king and a queen. A player controls the white pieces and the other one the black pieces. The players move on turns, respecting some rules. The purpose of the game is to obtain the mate. This occurs when a king is surrounded and it can’t be moved anywhere in order to avoid capture. It is a game which involves deep thinking and strategy abilities.
