Stress Management Techniques

As with many individuals you too perhaps find yourself behaving like a lost bee from daybreak to night. Individuals these days are busier than ever before and this contributes a lot of tension, but there are ways to reduce the stress of being busy by managing your day and life a little better. Firstly, you have to understand that it’s okay to say no as so often individuals will over-commit themselves because they feel embarrassed about saying no when someone asks something of them. Most individuals are worried about of saying to no for the fear of hurting the other person or being misinterpreted as being rude, but what happens in the end is that by not saying no, they land up at a situation where there is no time to call their own.

Individuals fail to keep track of their own priorities and over-extend themselves to the extent that they nearly bend over backwards to help others, neglecting their own intrinsic needs. How many times have you been so busy that you skipped lunch? Do you make time to exercise? If this applies to you, sit down and make two lists. Number one, list out the things, which are most fundamental to you in order of priority, and the second list should carry all your activities through out the day. Equate the 2 lists: Do they match up? If not, you need to make some changes and remember to always make time for yourself.

Some ways of tension control:

Financial management: people are often seen doing 2 jobs or working endlessly to make money to run the family. Take a long, hard, look at your financial circumstances – are there things that you could cut back on to ease the financial pressure you are under? If you supervise your money more judiciously, your stress level would drop and you would not have to work so hard.

Organize your office and home life better: How much time do you normally waste trying to look for a file, phone number or something else? Take a look at it. Not to mention the tension you feel every night when you come home to a messy, disorganized home.

Vitamins can assist you: Vitamin C and B complex and proven stress relievers. Moreover, vitamins can protect your body from the many impairments which the non-stop mental suffering that you are seeing.

Music as a therapy: Music has invariably proved to be a tranquilizing agent for the mind and the body. Music can take a lot of stress away from your system if you listen to some of your favorite tunes while commuting or during work, if it is allowed.

Doing breathing exercises: You could practice these any time you like wheresoever you are. It is a great (and proved) way of discharging stress and lowering your stress level.

See everything positively: This is a very difficult thing to do for many people. Individuals with a confident frame of mind tend to fall sick less often, are more satisfied and have reduced stress levels.

These hints would never lower your workload, but hopefully assist you cope with them better. Think there is only one person who counts in your life and that is you, so get busy by all means, but learn to cope with the state of affairs.
